Record Demand Hits STMA Food Pantry - Community Support Urgently Needed

STMA Food Pantry The STMA Food Pantry is experiencing an unprecedented surge in need, with a record number of local families seeking assistance. Each week, the pantry now serves more than 40 families, a number that continues to grow as food insecurity rises in the area.

Shelves are Running Low
The increased demand is rapidly depleting pantry shelves. Items most in need include:

  • Non-perishables: canned goods (beans, corn, etc.), peanut butter & jelly, cereal, cereal bars, meal kits, snacks (crackers, pudding, chips, granola bars), pasta and pasta sauces, flour, sugar, cooking oils, and condiments (ranch, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce).
  • Perishables: fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, cheese, butter, and yogurt.
  • Personal care items: shampoo, conditioner, body wash.
  • Household essentials: trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Critical Needs: Equipment & Volunteers
In addition to food and essential items, the pantry is seeking monetary donations to help purchase a floor scale to safely weigh in and out donations, as well as large coolers to ensure perishable items are transported safely to the facility.

The STMA Food Pantry also relies heavily on the support of volunteers. Whether it's sorting donations, helping families, or leading a hand at events, there's a place for everyone to get involved.
