BACK TO SCHOOL MEANS BUS SAFETY!
Yellow Flashing Lights: Slow down and prepare to stop. The bus is about to pick up or drop off students.
Red Flashing Lights: STOP. Do not pass or come within 20 feet of the school bus. Remain stopped until the red lights stop flashing.
Remember: On multi-lane roads without a physical barrier or raised/depressed median, traffic in both directions must stop when a school bus has its red lights activated.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office actively investigates school bus stop-arm violations and patrols areas where repeat violations occur.
Penalties include:
• Minimum $500 fine for failing to stop.
• Passing on the right or passing when children are outside the bus may result in a gross misdemeanor.
Drive distraction-free, obey the speed limit, and be extra alert during morning and afternoon school bus routes.
Drive Mellow. Look for Yellow. Help get every child to and from school safely
