Central Park Playground
About the Project:
The project consists of construction of a new playground on the same site as the current playground and construction of a splash pad and shade structure north of 57th Street. Construction will start in July. The new playground will include:

new play structures
soft surface pavement
shaded seating areas
landscape amenities
a new park entrance sign
a drinking fountain

The work is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025.

Project Updates

Project updates:
7-14-25: The Contractor to install storm sewer for the new playground and digging the footing for the new plaza area.
7-28-25: Grading of wall and sidewalk taking place. Excavation of archway piers and concrete as well as site grading.
8-11-25: Elfman Excavating to work on basing out shade structure footings, storm sewer work and site grading.

Procrete to form and pour the wall and last pillar on the part A side and pouring footings and columns on part A.
8-15-25: Eberts Concrete crew onsite this week to do the concrete footings in Part B and column work on Part A.
9-2-25: Elfman Construction onsite on September 2 and 3 to excavate and backfill columns on Part B and start to grade Part B for the sidewalk.
9-15-25: Concrete Arts will pour columns and prep the form liner. During the week, walls will be poured and working on the north section of the playground.
